SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — This Thanksgiving, we here at ABC7 News wanted to know what people are thankful for.
So, ABC7 News reporter Tim Johns hit the streets of San Francisco to ask people just that.
Our first stop was Kezar Stadium – for the annual San Francisco City High School Football Championship.
“I love football. Football changed my whole life. I try to give back. Officiating is something that I’ve been doing for a long time,” said Eduarado Nuno, of the game’s referees.
Before the game, we also met Jere Driscoll and his grandson Jack. Driscoll tells us he tries to come to the Turkey Bowl every year.

“It’s a tradition. It’s our Thanksgiving tradition. I’ve got my grandson. I’ve got another grandson coming,” said Driscoll.
Driscoll says he’s thankful he’s able to make these memories with his family, especially at a venue with a lot of personal history.
He himself played in this game back in 1959.
“You know, it’s 65 years ago. How could that happen?” he said.
A few blocks away at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens, we met Melody Zhou.

She was visiting the gardens with her parents and her two-year-old daughter. Zhou says while she’s grateful for the family time, this year has been different than those past.
“It’s been hard this year. Even having my parents coming to the U.S. There’s Trump. There’s restrictions. We have to worry about a lot,” said Zhou.
Many others tell us they’re just thankful for the chance to spend time with their loved ones. That includes Robert Schneider and his Santos Gomez.
The men say they’ve struggled with their sobriety in the past and this year, they’re happy for the small things.
“I’m thankful I’m still here. My family’s here and we’re all healthy,” said Schneider.
