LOS ANGELES — “Only Murders in the Building” is on a roll — snatching its fourth straight nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series at the Emmys.
This year, it’s up against crowd-pleasers like ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” FX’s “The Bear” on Hulu and another FX hit, the delightfully spooky, “What We Do in the Shadows.”
“Only Murders” scored seven total Emmy nods, including a lead actor nomination for Martin Short, marking his fourth consecutive Emmy nod for the series.
The team behind the scenes on the show is also being recognized, earning nominations for production design, casting, makeup, sound mixing and stunt coordination.
To top it off, the companion series “Unlocking The Mystery” earned its own nomination for Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction or Reality Series.
Riding high on Emmy buzz, the trio’s return is just around the corner. Season 5 premieres on Hulu September 9. The first three episodes drop at once, followed by new episodes rolling out weekly.
This season’s mystery? The Arconia’s doorman, Lester, is found dead in the courtyard fountain, pulling the gang into a dangerous game involving mobsters, billionaires, and clandestine city secrets.
This season’s guest star lineup is seriously stacked, featuring Tea Leoni, Christoph Waltz, Logan Lerman, Renée Zellweger, Keegan-Michael Key, Bobby Cannavale, and Beanie Feldstein.
