LOS ANGELES — GMA’s Lara Spencer is bringing her love of thrifting to television.
Freeform and Hulu announced a new unscripted competition series, “That Thrifting Show with Lara Spencer,” set to debut in 2026. The series is hosted and executive produced by Spencer, a vintage design expert.
Across 12 episodes, two designer duos will be given identical rooms and challenged to transform them using only vintage and thrift store finds. With limited budgets and time, the teams must showcase their creativity, blending sustainability with style to craft layered, finished spaces.
“It is so meaningful to share my childhood love of thrifting and celebrate this new generation’s passion for sustainable design,” Spencer said in a statement. “As you will see on ‘That Thrifting Show,’ there are so many incredible treasures out there, just waiting to be reimagined and given a new life. To see the rooms these designers create with their thrifted finds is aspirational and simply amazing.”
The series is produced for ABC News Studios by Butternut, a division of Wheelhouse Entertainment, and Envisionary Productions. Spencer executive produces alongside Courtney White and Cheryl Wayne for Butternut, Jon Rosen for Envisionary Productions, and David Sloan and Melia Patria for ABC News Studios.
“That Thrifting Show with Lara Spencer” will premiere on Freeform and Hulu in 2026.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Freeform, Hulu and this ABC station.
