DUBLIN, Calif. (KGO) — Splash your way through the multiple pools or climb to the top of the slide tower and enjoy The Wave. This hidden gem and water adventure spot is tucked away near Emerald Park in Dublin, California.
“Yes, this place is awesome people love it. We offer lots of shade for the really hot days. We have something for everybody. It is really an all-inclusive facility. They really thought about every demographic when they built this place,” said Dustin Stene, recreation supervisor for the City of Dublin.
The thrilling side of cooling off is featured at this municipal aquatic center. There are indoor pools, outdoor pools and all sorts of classes and camps offered at the location.
“The depths of the pools and the way they are laid out, it’s perfect for swimming lessons and learn to swim programs, as well as fitness swimming. We have aqua aerobics and lap swimming and things like that for the adults. Even in the winter, in January, on the weekends that place is packed out,” Stene said.
Along with all the water fun, The Wave offers lifeguard certifications and employment opportunities. Parties, camps and swimming lessons are available. Children are not the only ones who are allowed to have fun in the park. Adults can enjoy the food truck surrounding the regular farmers market, and there is also the slide tower.
“It’s always fun and enjoyable to see the kids come, bring the mom and dad, and they are looking at that slide tower a little hesitant. All of a sudden, the kids drag them up there, and they can go down the slides. I’ve never seen adults have so much fun,” Stene said.
