Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Ke Huy Kwan, Quinta Brunson and more lend their voices to the animated sequel
The newest trailer for “Zootopia 2” is here and we’re getting a first look at some new characters and hearing a new song!
The highly-anticipated sequel stars Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, rookie cops who are out to prove they make a good team.
They get their chance when they come face-to-face with a viper named Gary De’Snake, voiced by Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan. Snakes haven’t been seen in Zootopia in quite some time, so this meeting is a surprise.
“Snakes aren’t the bad guys. I have to set things right and when I do, my family will finally be able to come home,” De’Snake says in the trailer.
The trailer is set to “Zoo,” the new single written by Shakira, Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin. It’ll be released October 10. Shakira returns as pop star Gazelle and Sheeran and Slatkin will have cameos as a pair of sheep named Ed Shearin and Baalake Lambkin.
“Zootopia 2” also features the voices of Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song as the Lynxleys, one of the most prominent families in Zootopia. Fortune Feimster will voice Nibbles Maplestick, an oddball beaver whose podcast explores reptile mysteries. Idris Elba is back as Chief Bogo, head of the Zootopia Police Department. Patrick Warburton voices actor-turned-politician Mayor Brian Winddancer; Quinta Brunson joins the cast as Dr. Fuzzby, an adorable quokka therapy animal; and Nate Torrence (“Get Smart”) reprises his role as Clawhauser, Zootopia Police Department’s cheetah receptionist.
The film is directed by the Oscar-winning team of Disney Animation chief creative officer Jared Bush and Byron Howard and produced by Yvett Merino.
“Zootopia 2” is in theaters November 26.
