JOINT BASE MDL, N.J. — The all-clear has been given at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey after an earlier lockdown.
The lockdown was in effect for about an hour before the all-clear was given around noon.
According to a press release from the base, a report of an active shooter was received at 10:58 a.m. Tuesday.
Emergency protocols were activated and law enforcement was called, officials said.
However, no active shooter threat was found and the lockdown was lifted at 11:57 a.m.
“Our priority is the safety and security of everyone on the installation,” Col. Michael Stefanovic, the commander of Joint Base MDL, said in a statement. “We worked closely with local law enforcement and emergency responders to ensure the situation was investigated and resolved as quickly as possible.”
No further details are available, the base said.
The base is about 18 miles southeast of Trenton.
