SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — San Francisco’s Fleet Week is on. Making it happen are international allies from Colombia and Canada.
“The skies over the Bay Area will still be filled with airshows and our neighborhoods will be alive with celebration and pride. There is no better place to host Fleet Week than right here in San Francisco,” said SF Mayor Daniel Lurie.
The Canadian Snowbirds, from the Royal Canadian Air Force, made a strong entrance into the San Francisco skies Wednesday afternoon flying the route they’ll be taking for the show.

Loeven said he was glad to see the international support.
“So happy and proud that the Canadians were going to come to San Francisco Fleet Week. They’ve been on the schedule for quite some time, and they’re on their way. The Colombian ship Gloria, absolutely fabulous. It’s a tall ship,” said Loeven.
The official flagship and training vessel of the Colombian Navy ARC Gloria sailed into the San Francisco Bay Wednesday morning a day ahead of schedule. The crew of cadets aboard documented the exciting moments sending messages to their loved ones as they sailed into San Francisco showing off the iconic tall ship that visits more than 70 counties around the world.
“He represents and not only a sail training ship, but also, he represents our culture, our music, our people, our traditions,” said Sonia Pereira, Consul General of Colombia in San Francisco.
