ORINDA, Calif. (KGO) — A suspect is in custody after a freeway shooting on eastbound Highway 24 near the Caldecott Tunnel on Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP says the shooting happened near Tunnel Road, and currently, all eastbound lanes are closed as officers investigate.
SKY7 was over the scene where CHP officers were able to take the suspect into custody at the 24/680 interchange. Officers could be seen walking on the side of southbound 680 looking for evidence.
CHP says an AC Transit bus pulled over on Highway 13 near Joaquin Miller Road, but can’t say if this is also a part of the Highway 24 shooting investigation.
