A teaser video? For “The Devil Wears Prada 2?” Groundbreaking!
20th Century Studios has given us a first look at the highly-anticipated sequel.
As the video begins, we hear the first notes of Madonna’s “Vogue” (a throwback to the original film) as someone in a pair of red studded stilettos walks through the fictional Runway Magazine offices. Flashes of glamorous moments appear (a gown being zipped up, champagne being popped), then Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep) steps into an elevator. Before the doors fully close, Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) pushes them open and says “Miranda,” who replies with, “Took you long enough.”
Were they off to a designer’s run-through? To fashion week? A hideous skirt convention? It’s unclear, as details of the film’s plot have not yet been revealed.
What we do know is this: Streep, Hathaway, Emily Blunt (Emily) and Stanley Tucci (Nigel), Traci Thoms (Lily) and Tibor Feldman (Irv) will all be returning, along with new characters played by Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak and Conrad Ricamora.
The original film, released in 2006, is based on Lauren Weisberger’s book of the same name. It followed Hathaway’s Andy as she took a job as Miranda’s assistant at Runway. It earned Streep an Oscar nomination and became a pop culture phenomenon.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” struts into theaters May 1, 2026.
“That’s all.”
