STOCKTON, Calif. (KGO) — An 8-year-old girl, who was among four people shot and killed in the Stockton mass shooting during a child’s birthday party last Saturday, has been identified.
Maya Lupian was one of four people killed in the attack, according to her GoFundMe page set up by her family.
She was a 3rd grader as well as a karate student, who was just two weeks away from her 9th birthday.

A 9-year-old, 14-year-old and 21-year-old were also killed. Eleven other people were injured.
The 14-year-old victim was previously identified as Amari Peterson. Peterson’s father described his son as a “gentle soul.”

The FBI has joined other law enforcement agencies in the search for the suspects. The reward has increased from $25,000 to $50,000.

Investigators say least 100 people were celebrating a 2-year-old’s birthday when the gunfire started.
The man who leases the venue where the shooting happened says he doesn’t expect to reopen his business any time soon, if ever.
He told the Sacramento Bee, “There’s no business there anymore. It’s a memorial.”
