SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The groups are now set for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With the conclusion of Friday’s draw, we are getting a better idea of who will be playing at Levi’s Stadium next year.
In total, Levi’s will be hosting six games, five in the group stage and one in the Round of 32.
The full schedule is expected to be released on Saturday, but here’s what we know so far:
Saturday, June 13: Qatar vs. Switzerland
Qatar will take on Switzerland on this day at Levi’s Stadium.
Tuesday, June 16: Group J
There is a possibility that Lionel Messi and Argentina, the defending champions, could play at Levi’s Stadium on this day.
On Friday, FIFA announced the match will be Argentina vs. Algeria, but the location is either going to be Kansas City or Santa Clara.
Friday, June 19: UEFA Playoff Winner C vs. Paraguay
Paraguay is slated to play against the European Playoff-Winner C, which could be Slovakia, Kosovo, Romania or Turkey.
Monday, June 22: Group J
This date could be another opportunity for Messi to play at Levi’s.
FIFA announced it will definitely be a Group J team and the matches will either be Argentina vs. Austria or Jordan vs. Algeria.
The other possible location where they could play is AT&T Stadium.
Thursday, June 25: Paraguay vs. Australia
Paraguay will take on Australia on this day at Levi’s Stadium.
Wednesday, July 1: Group D winners v Group B/E/F/I/J third place
And now to our chance for USMNT to play at Levi’s Stadium.
This will be a Round of 32 match with the Group D winners and Group B/E/F/I/J third place.
If the USMNT wins its group, that means they would play in Santa Clara.
