What’s happening in San Francisco for New Year’s Eve? Here’s a list of events

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The Bay Area is expected to ring in the new year with some rain, but the forecast isn’t expected to cause any major cancellations of New Year’s Eve festivities.

Between concerts, firework shows, and dining in style, here’s a list of all the different ways you can celebrate in San Francisco:

Fireworks at the Ferry building

Pack your rain jackets and umbrellas for a family-friendly fireworks show along the water. Even with the forecast, organizers tell ABC7 News they are prepared for a fireworks display regardless of the rain.

Under the Fireworks Cruise

Sail along the Bay for a cruise aboard the San Francisco Spirit. The experience promises two decks with music, a four-hour open bar with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a glass of champagne upon boarding.

Black & White NYE Masquerade Ball

Dress to impress at this black-and-white themed masquerade affair inside the historical Hobart Building, where there will be dancing, DJs and specialty cocktails throughout the night.

North Beach Bar Crawl

An expensive New Year’s Eve? In this economy? Have no fear: more than a dozen North Beach bars participating in the NYE bar crawl are offering deals on drinks and food all night long.

Phoenix Hotel’s NYE closing party

The legendary Phoenix Hotel is hosting its final party before closing its iconic space that has hosted music legends over the years. Groove to DJ sets hosted by Juanita MORE! in the hotel’s (heated) neon courtyard.

ABBA glitter disco NYE extravaganza

Step back in time to the 1970s for a disco-inspired dance party. Tickets are sold out online, but organizers will be selling tickets at the door as space allows for those who dance their plans away with the rain.

New Bohemia NYE

This two-level party has something for everyone: circus performers, a rave cave, immersive rooms, 7 different dance floors, games, photo booths and more hosted by Opel & Vau de Vire Productions.

Midnight Botanica at 1 Hotel

Step into a winter greenhouse-inspired space where Terrene will be offering up an opulent culinary and cocktail menu, with a midnight champagne toast right in front of the Embarcadero for the firework show.
