SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) — San Francisco 49ers fans are heading to Philadelphia for this weekend’s playoff game.
On Tuesday, we spoke with Avery Keyes – who is finalizing details for a Philly Takeover.
“From Sunday night until this very moment, it’s been nonstop, planning, signing contracts for events,” Keyes said.
Keyes lives in Pennsylvania. He’s the president of PA Faithfuls. His chapter along with two others are hosting events in Philadelphia starting this Friday, and a stadium tailgate on gameday. This will be his fifth Philly Takeover weekend.
“We took over that stadium there was so much 49ers fans in there, Eagles fans by halftime I’ve never seen them leave the stadium at half time they left. It’s becoming a rivalry I guess but it’s becoming a good rivalry,” Keyes said.

Keyes is expecting upwards of a thousand 49er fans to show up at their events. By Tuesday afternoon, 600 people had already reserved free tickets to Saturday’s events.
Keyes said he’s feeling ecstatic.
“For us to be where we are, you know as a faithful, what more can you ask for. The team has definitely, you know, shown up and shown out and our coach – he should be coach of the year,” Keyes said.
The 49-person “shotstick” by the Bay Area’s Niner Empire brings fans from all over together for a good time. South San Francisco resident Carlos Moran caters for Niner Empire’s tailgate events at every home game at Levi’s. He runs Los Bayuncos. He’s heading to Philadelphia.
“Now we’re like ok we booked our flights, we bought our tickets, me and my two coworkers are going to be heading out there on Saturday. How are you feeling? I’m excited, my coworkers are excited,” Moran said.

Moran said this will be his first away game.
“I think this is the game, you know, we all want to be a part of and see, it’s a big game for the Niners, and I know we’re going to come out victorious,” Moran said.
And if Philadelphia is too far, you can cheer on at watch parties throughout the Bay Area.
Sushi Confidential in San Jose will be opening their doors on Sunday at 1.
“We have one of the largest patios in downtown San Jose, we have like you said, we’re going to have great weather, we’re going to have a DJ, a lot of tv’s throughout the patio,” Moran said.
Football food and drinks like sake bombs, poke nachos and wings, will be there to name a few.
