Benny Blanco’s mom, Selena Gomez’s mother-in-law, is unharmed after burglars break into her Los Angeles home

LOS ANGELES — The mother of music producer Benny Blanco was unharmed after burglars smashed their way into her Los Angeles house while she was home alone.

The victim is also the mother-in-law of singer Selena Gomez, Blanco’s wife. Authorities did not identify her by name but said she was left shaken up after three men broke into the two-story house in Studio City Monday night.

She barricaded herself in a bathroom and called 911 after she heard the suspects entering through a sliding glass door that they shattered. Officers responded to the home around 9:15 p.m. but the suspects had already fled the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspects ransacked several rooms and got away with some property, police said, but it was not immediately what exactly they took.

Property records and neighbors identified the victimized resident as Blanco’s mother. She told investigators that the intruders kicked the bathroom door off its hinges during the incident.

Descriptions of the at-large intruders were not available.
