LOS ANGELES — It’s showtime for “Electric Bloom!”
The new Disney series follows a trio of superstars (played by Carmen Sanchez, Lumi Pollack, and Ruby Marino) as they recount their journey to becoming a mega-famous pop group and close-knit best friends.
On The Red Carpet recently sat down with Sanchez, who plays Jade, the songwriter of the band.
“We’re very supportive of each other, and I love them very much, and I feel the love from them too. So it’s truly incredible to be with two incredible girls working on this,” she said about Pollack and Marino.
“The thing about the trio is Tulip (Marino) is very energetic, super positive, super quirky all the time. Posey’s (Pollack) like the studious, you know, super organized type of girl. And then Jade is like very tough,” Sanchez described.
She even drew on some Disney inspiration to bring Jade to life!
“Jade is very rebellious, you know. Alex Russo is like such a big inspo. Like, I’ve had like a Pinterest board of like her hairstyles and her outfits’ cause just like the way she acts is literally like Jade,” she told us. “I try to grab something from like each, you know, Disney show and like Disney ‘it’ girl, like Hannah Montana, you know, I love her!”

Noting her Cuban heritage, Sanchez explained how she’s been able to incorporate elements of her culture into the series.
“Production is very open to let us add our own little things to our characters, so I made her Latina. I made her have her little Spanish like words in there.”
She teased one of her favorite episodes, which focuses on Jade’s family.
“I literally cannot wait for that one I feel like it’s definitely going to be a hard one for people to watch because it’s very very emotional. It’s one of my favorite episodes and wardrobe – I’m close friends with everybody on wardrobe. They’re like my besties. – They let me add a Cuban necklace with a Cuban flag.”
Filled with catchy tunes, “Electric Bloom” features tracks from award-winning songwriter Diane Warren.
“I do know that Jade is kind of based off Diane when she was younger. So, just having her by our side and having her in this project is really incredible.”
