Santa Cruz County deputies are investigating after a large remote-controlled airplane crashed into a home injuring two people outside.
WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KGO) — A large remote-controlled airplane crashed into a Santa Cruz County home injuring two people, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said.
It happened just after 7 p.m. on Saturday at Buena Vista Drive in Watsonville when the victims were struck outside of the home.
One person sustained moderate injuries, and the other had “serious, but non-life-threatening injuries,” authorities said.
They were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Photos from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department show the damage to the home.

It’s unclear who was operating it, but Watsonville officials said it happened during a demonstration at the Fire in the Sky Open House at Watsonville Municipal Airport.
The crash remains under investigation.
