Laney College Athletic Director John Beam injured in shooting on Oakland campus, sources say

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — Authorities are responding to reports of a shooting at Laney College in Oakland on Thursday.

Oakland Fire Department confirmed that a man was being treated for a gunshot wound and taken to the hospital.

Sources tell ABC7 News that the man shot is current Athletic Director John Beam.

The college was placed on lockdown earlier in the day, but the lockdown has since been lifted. The campus is closed for the rest of the day.
