OAKLEY, Calif. — There is a lockdown for the city of Oakley midday Monday due to an armed suspect at large, the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office says.
They say the suspect shot at a deputy sheriff in the 4300 block of Gold Run Drive near Neroly Road, Oakley Road and Empire Avenue.
Officials say the suspect is described as an adult man in his mid 40s, wearing a hat and grey hooded sweatshirt.
People are being advised to go inside, close and lock all windows and doors and stay off the phone. Officials say to not call 911 unless you need to report a life-threatening emergency.
