SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — From Kronk in “The Emperor’s New Groove” to Pulaski from “Planes: Fire & Rescue”, voice actor Patrick Warburton’s unmistakable voice can be heard in several of Disney’s classic films.
In “Zootopia 2”, he lends his signature vocals to Zootopia’s mayor.
“I am playing Mayor Brian Winddancer, who used to be, you know, an action hero, a movie star,” Warburton said.
With a cast already populated with unforgettable voices like Jason Bateman, Adam Sandberg, and Ginnifer Goodwin, Warburton did not hesitate to sign on.
“This is Disney, and it’s Zootopia so I didn’t need to see anything,” Warburton said.
But when early images of his new character were shared with him, he was thrilled.
“It was always really fun whenever they’d show you something,” Warburton said, “They’ve already started to integrate certain features of yours into the character, which is pretty spectacular.”
After watching the premiere at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, Warburton couldn’t be more excited.
“This film is so much fun to watch,” he declares, “it’s a great movie for kids, but adults enjoy it just as much and it does have something for everybody, including some adult humor,” Warburton says with a smile.
