MILPITAS, Calif. (KGO) — PhoLove in Milpitas, which gained attention after a viral video showed an employee slamming a slab of ribs onto the ground, has been cleared to reopen.

Santa Clara County Environmental Health cleared the restaurant after it passed a health inspection on Nov. 20 that required the correction of “major violations” and the demonstration of proper food handling practices.
Environmental Health Director Dr. Marilyn Underwood said that a pest control report showed that there was no current cockroach activity following earlier reports of an infestation, and no evidence of pests was observed.
In the video, ribs were seen getting slammed onto cardboard placed on concrete, sliding right into the pavement — even bumping a mop bucket.

A follow-up, unannounced inspection will reportedly occur in the upcoming weeks.
