SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) — During a news conference Friday, the Santa Clara Police Department laid out details of what happened at a home off of Eisenhower Drive.
Police say after arriving on scene at the house following a 911 call, an officer broke down the front door after hearing a commotion happening inside.
Photos released by SCPD from that officer’s body camera show what unfolded.

The first picture shows two men on the ground in a hallway, with the man who was shot on top of his roommate and a third roommate standing in the background.
Authorities say the man had stabbed his roommate multiple times with two separate knives before they arrived.
Despite telling the man to stop, police say he raised the knife again.
“When the officer saw the suspect’s hand holding the knife come down towards the victim, the officer shot four times,” said SCPD Chief Cory Morgan.
The man was hit by all four shots, and another photo shows both he and his roommate then lying on the ground.
The knife, circled here, can also clearly be seen.
Police say, in addition to this incident, they had also been called out to the house last month for another confrontation regarding the two roommates.
“Based on our preliminary investigation, we believe the officer’s actions prevented further harm and clearly saved at least one life,” Morgan said.
The incident has rattled many in this normally quiet neighborhood.
On Wednesday, ABC7 News spoke with several neighbors, including some that say they heard the gunshots.
“I felt scared. I didn’t know what to feel. This rarely happens here,” said Warren Parinas.
Others who also live nearby say they had no idea what was happening and why police had come to their block that morning.
They tell us, they’re just happy it’s over.
“I’ve been in and out of this house for 35 years and I’ve never seen anything like this happen, and I hope it was random and never happens again,” said Aryella Batel Doron.
During Friday’s new conference, the Santa Clara Police Department said their investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
As for the roommate who was stabbed, he has been released from the hospital and is continuing to recover.
