The nation is on billionaire watch ahead of Saturday night’s Powerball drawing. The jackpot has soared to $1.5 billion.
This is the fifth-largest prize in the game’s history.
If someone wins on Saturday, yearly payments would average $30 million a year for 30 years, or about $686 million in cash before taxes.
There hasn’t been a Powerball winner since September, when two tickets in Missouri and Texas split a $1.7 billion prize.
According to Powerball, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
