SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The debate over bringing the National Guard to San Francisco is still top of mind for many as the Dreamforce convention kicks into Day two.
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff would like to stop talking about the comments he made last week to the New York Times, saying he’d support President Trump sending federal troops here.

Dreamforce 2025 kicked off with Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff moving past his call for the National Guard to be deployed in San Francisco.
But on Wednesday, DA Brooke Jenkins and other leaders will denounce the comments during a news conference.
They plan to highlight work that they say has reduced crime by 30% for the last three years.
Over the weekend, Benioff did seem to back off his calls for the National Guard and yesterday during a news conference following his Dreamforce keynote, Benioff was asked about his comments.

“I’m going to limit my comments today to Dreamforce, to agentforce,” Benioff said. “I want to make sure you have a safe experience here specially everyone here who is from out of town that is also why we have brought over over 200 of our own police, to make sure that everyone who attends Dreamforce, including all of you do have a good experience.”
Benioff promised $1 million to support larger hiring bonuses for new police officers and $15 billion to the city over the next five years.
