San Francisco is moving forward with new legislation to crack down on dirt bike riders.
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Groups of dirt bikers speeding through the city have become an increasingly common and frustrating sight for people around San Francisco.
Now, the board of supervisors is moving forward with legislation to stop dangerous dirt bike riding.

New legislation would double the maximum fine for misdemeanor sideshow offenses to $1,000. That will put San Francisco more in line with fines issued by other cities like San Jose and Oakland.
Dirt bike riders have previously defended their rides, telling our media partners at SF Standard that laws targeting riding are racist and their culture is misunderstood.
