Student almost hit as driver ignores school bus stop sign, video shows in Hadley, Massachusetts

A Massachusetts student narrowly escaped tragedy on their way to school Friday morning.

Footage released by the Hadley Police Department shows a student crossing the street to board the school bus, with a car nearly hitting the child. In the video, a stop sign on the side of the bus can be seen fully extended before the youngster walks onto the roadway.

The post stated the vehicle was coming from Amherst and headed to Northampton.

“We are working with the local bus company to determine if they have video to better identify the vehicle,” the post said. “All motorists must stay alert, this could have been tragedy.”
