
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — BART is saying that no trains are running Friday morning because of a computer equipment problem.
The transit agency says the issue is happening after network upgrade work.
Service has not been able to start and they ask commuters to seek alternate transportation.
They did not provide an estimated time service may return.
BART service has been suspended several times in recent months.
Last week, some riders were stranded and re-routed after smoke filled the Transbay Tube when officials say brakes overheated.
In May, there was a systemwide shutdown because of an issue with its computer system. BART officials say that outage impacted 40,000 commuters.
And about two weeks later, a fire at the San Leandro station crippled green line service for days.
