Tsunami advisory issued after 7.8 earthquake rattles coast of Russia

A tsunami advisory was issued on the eastern coast of the Kamchatka peninsula of Russia after a 7.8 earthquake was recorded off the coast of the peninsula, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

“This morning is once again testing the resilience of Kamchatka residents. Immediately after the earthquake, we are conducting an operational inspection of social institutions and residential buildings,” Kamchatka Governor Vladimir Solodov said in a post on Telegram.
